Customer Review Stunning 5/5 Stars There are many assumptions one would have when picking up a book that is essentially the memoir about dealing with the death of the author's husband and its aftermath...that it would be so disheartening and unenjoyable as to sap the narrative of its beauty and strength.
Banish all of those thoughts when picking up this book. The sheer humanity and strength that comes through the pages will absolutely knock you over. Overwhelming and an achievement of the highest order. An illumination and powerful meditation on dealing with loss and finding the courage to live beyond it. Joan Didion has produced a masterpiece that is well deserving of the many accolades it has received.
